I Am Incredibly Proud to Be an American

Barack Obama Accepts the Democratic Nomination

Having the good sense to trick Diedra Garcia (President and CEO of DRG) into being my mentor several years ago, I was able to attend the last night of the Democratic National Convention after she pulled a couple of strings (namely her Mama). I will be forever grateful to them both.

The experience was beyond words. I was a wreck from start to finish. Crying, sobbing, the works. As an African-American, this event may be the most important of my lifetime. As a citizen of the United States of America, I couldn’t be more proud. Obama’s acceptance is a tribute to the sacrifices of my ancestors and to the continuing evolution of my country.

This is one journey I hope ends in the White House.
